What are Porcelain Veneers?
Veneers are probably one of the most sought after dental procedures of our time. Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic that are designed to create an ideal and custom smile for each patient without compromising too much tooth structures. Although offered at many dental offices, there is a very special technique and knowhow that goes into creating a lasting, harmonious smile using veneers. The treating doctor needs to start with a full comprehensive analysis of the patient’s face, and oral needs, speech patterns and their patient’s vision in order to create the best possible smile for each person.
Porcelain versus Composite
Porcelain composite are stronger, more aesthetic and natural looking, have more shine and luster and last much longer than composite veneers.
Anyone can enhance their smile with porcelain veneers. However if there is a lot of crowding or misaligned teeth, the ideal treatment plant would be to start with 3-6 months of clear aligners (clear braces) before doing veneers to minimize the need to remove excessive tooth structure.
